October 12, 2015

This week, we will be introducing our last color word. The kids have a done a great job with learning how to read and spell the color words. One way we have practiced is by singing songs for each color. In their song and poetry notebooks, each student has a copy of the words to color songs. During our book box time, they are favorites to read.

The link above will have the color songs to practice at home.

With our study of color words, we learned about primary and secondary colors.

We enjoyed reading Mouse Paint and White Rabbits Color Book and learned how red and yellow make orange, blue and yellow make green and red and blue make purple.
We even got to paint and mix colors ourselves!

In science, we have been learning ways we can move. We generated a great list of how we can move- run, jump, skip, hop, skate, cartwheel, dance, etc.  Then, we got to take pictures of the many ways we move.
