The 100th Day of Kindergarten

The 100th day of school is such a huge milestone in kindergarten and one of my favorite days. Over the past 100 school days, the kids have changed and grown so dramatically. I love this day, because we get to celebrate how far we've come and we get to put so many of our math skills into practice. We also set goals for the days yet to come. This post is picture heavy, but hopefully it will give you a glimpse into our amazing day!

Starting on the 10th day of school, we had a visit from Zero the Hero. He came to teach us about zero being a place holder to make numbers larger. He came back on day 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90. Today, he came to visit with  his sister Zerona, in order to make the number 100. His goal for us was to be able to count to 100 by day 100. Zero was excited to know we met his goal!.

Since Zero was a number super hero, we decided to wear super hero 100th day capes. Thank you for helping the kids make amazing capes!

We had various stations to do during the day to help us practice our math skills.

Puzzle- We worked with our partners to complete a 100 piece puzzle.

Race to 100- The students were to roll a number cube. They needed to color in that number of squares. The objective was to see how many rolls it would take to get to 100.

100 Cups- The kids were able to use 100 cups to stack to create a tower. This required quite a bit of strategy, skill and team work.

Mystery Pictures- The students were given cards with a series of numbers. The goal was to find those numbers on the 100 chart and color them. Once finished, they would find a surprise mystery picture.

Pattern Blocks- We enjoyed making designs with 100 pattern blocks.

The 100 chart- The students were given number cards from 1-100 and asked build the 100 chart. They did awesome!

We had such a fun day with out friends.

We are 100 days smarter!

We even stopped by the office to show Mr. Armin we knew how to count to 100.
