Week 24 in Kindergarten

We have been busy helping our brains grow with our science and math knowledge. In math, we have started learning about larger numbers. We are building numbers by tens and ones. One way we have practiced is to use pool noodles. The pool noodles are cut into ten rods and ones units. The students have been asked to determine a given number or to build a number.

We will be practicing more in math stations and eventually will transition to base ten blocks and then seeing the base ten blocks on paper.

In science we have been learning about states of matter. We did a few experiments to see about reversible change to see how solid can change to liquid, and liquid back to solid, as well as liquid to gas. We learned about molecules in solid, liquid and gas and even did a little dance to help us remember.

Our fifth grade buddies have been amazing helpers for us. They help us practice sight words, they read with us and do math games. We love working with them each morning.
