This week we started working with our 5th grade buddies. At the start of the year, our buddies helped us navigate the lunch line and learn how to punch in our lunch numbers. For our first session together, we did a little get to know you activity to compare our interests. Our 5th grade buddies will visit each week to read to us and listen to us read. They will also help us practice our sight words and do some projects.

Each day when we recite our SHARK pledge, we talk about ways we can be a super shark and how we can show safety, honesty, responsibility, accountability and kindness.

This week our sharks certainly showed they could be kind and helpful to others. With the fantastic support from our families, our class raised almost $75 for United Way. We enjoyed our spirit week activities, but also enjoyed being able to help others.

When we met the goal of $50, our class earned the opportunity to help make Mr. Armin into an ice cream sundae. Our topping of choice was marshmallows. What a fun, sticky, messy assembly with a HUGE impact. Way to go, SHARKS! Way to go, Mr. Armin!
