Week 30 and 31

We have had such a busy week and I have been without my camera for much of the week. Unfortunately, this post will be short on pictures.

With Jolly Phonics we have been learning about soft and hard c and g. The kids are doing a great job determining when to read the word with a soft or hard sound based on on the vowel.

ge    gi     gy

g makes a /j/  sound.

go    ga    gu
g makes a /g/   sound

ce     ci     cy
c makes a /s/ sound

ca    co    cu
c makes a /k/ sound

We found word cards hidden around the room and had to determine if they had a soft or hard sound.

In science, we have been learning about the moon. On Friday, we started a project to make a moon. The kids were thrilled to play with glue. They were asked to makes lines and puddles on glue on their paper. What fun! Stay tuned to see our finished projects,
