Week 14 in Kindergarten

For the last two weeks, we have been fortunate to have some fifth grade buddies come each morning to help us practice some skills. They visit us for 15 minutes each morning, with one fifth grader for every two kindergarten students. They have helped us practice sounds, popcorn words and even helped us with math station games. We love sharing what we know with our buddies and they enjoy helping us learn new skills. 

Week 13 in Kindergarten

After reading the story Pumpkin Pumpkin, we investigated a pumpkin. We opened the inside and those that wanted a turn helped scoop out the pulp and seeds. We planted some seeds in plastic bags so we could see the sprout and roots grow. We also left some seeds in the pumpkin and then we added some soil. We read the story Pumpkin Jack and are anxious to see how our pumpkin changes.
